Surgical Oncology

The surgeons at Summit Surgical treat a wide variety of solid tumors. Examples of tumors treated, include breast, melanoma and other rare skin cancers, upper gastrointestinal, small intestine, colon and rectal, sarcomas of the abdomen and extremity, thyroid and adrenal and tumors related to lymph nodes.

Treatment plans are developed through a multidisciplinary approach. This involves conference with other specialists including medical oncology, radiation oncology, radiology, pathology, social services and nutrition. This approach allows for an intersection of ideas and experience which leads to better quality and coordination of treatment plans and improved outcomes.
