General surgery is a specialty that focuses on your abdominal area which includes your esophagus, stomach, small and large intestines, gallbladder, appendix, soft tissues and rectum.  Our general surgeons offer clinical expertise in these areas as well as breast and thyroid surgery.  Common, but painful, issues like gallbladder problems, hernias and hemorrhoids can often be taken care of with relatively simple surgeries.  And, because our surgeons specialize in minimally invasive (laparoscopic) surgical techniques, procedures typically result in less pain, minimal scarring and faster recoveries.  In most cases, patients can go home the same day the surgery is performed – allowing them to feel better and get back to their loved ones.
